Pensacola Beach Chamber of Commerce Teams with WEAR, Emerald Coast Rentals and Facebook for Holiday Getaway Promotion

Pensacola Beach, FL — November 16, 2011 – The Pensacola Beach Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the holiday season by giving away a weekend getaway courtesy of Emerald Coast Rentals. The company is giving away a two bedroom, two bathroom condominium to be awarded to one lucky winner for a weekend on beautiful Pensacola Beach.

Between Nov. 21 and Dec. 2, there will be daily contests for the 38,000 existing fans and all the new fans of the WEAR Facebook page. WEAR will award the daily winners for entering the contest on the Facebook page. These winners will be entered for the grand prize drawing for a weekend getaway which will be awarded shortly after the final daily winner is drawn on Dec. 2.Season Your Holidays Give Away

Daily, those entering the contest will have to answer questions based on the jam packed beach “Season Your Holidays” schedule. Answers to the questions will involve, but not limited to, the events beginning on Dec. 9 with the Lighted Boat Parade, which begins at the Sabine Marina and winds around the Santa Rosa Sound to end at the Boardwalk. Saturday, Dec. 10’s events include the Kowabunga Breakfast with Surfing Santa at Surf Burger for the kids and for the adults, the Santa Claus Look Alike Contest at the always entertaining Bamboo Willie’s on the boardwalk and the Full moon Party at the legendary Sandshaker Lounge across from the beach at night. Sunday, Dec. 11’s events are all about the young and the young at heart that includes Ornament Making at Island Style, the Surfing Santa Beach Parade down Via de Luna and after the parade, finishing with a Gingerbread House Make and Take with Santa at the Gulfside Pavilion, where the children can tell Santa all their holiday wishes and make tasty and creative gingerbread houses. With sugar white sand and a crisp ocean breeze, it’s the perfect ingredients to “Season Your Holidays” at Pensacola Beach.

Pensacola Beach, FL — Boats and floats should get ready to rock and roll during the Pensacola Beach Chamber’s Season Your Holidays parade weekend. The Lighted Boat Parade will sail on December 9 at 6 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated vessels.  The Surfing Santa Beach Parade is December 11 at 2 p.m. Applications, which are available at penbeach@visitpensacolabeach.com. Artist Categories Announced for the 4th Annual Art & Wine Festival

Local artists are getting ready to show off their best work at the 4th Annual Art and Wine Festival, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1-2, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Pensacola Beach.

TheArtist Village will be filled with an array of artists who bring their own unique style to traditional and modern art. Booths will showcase:

Take time to be mesmerized by the different wine’s evocative aromas at several wine tasting locations island wide by strolling or jumping aboard the wine tasting trolley. Riders must be 21. The Pensacola Beach Chamber of Commerce invites you to come to the Island and indulge in some tasty island-inspired fare, sip a glass of wine and listen to the tunes. To spice things up, there will be a corvette show, live entertainment including music and dancers, crab racing for all ages. The kid’s area, open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on both days, will include face painting, mini golf, coloring contests, and bean bag toss.This year, 17 restaurants will be competing for the People’s Choice Award. The restaurants will be offering portions of their signature dishes for $5 or less. Island chefs are preparing to showcase their signature dishes at the 4th Annual Taste of the Beach, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17-18, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach.

Pirate Day on Pensacola Beach

August 2, 2011

Swashbuckling paddleboarders and costumed characters will land on Pirate DayPensacola Beach, Wednesday, August 31 at 6 p.m. to celebrate the
inaugural Pirate Day. Put on your best pirate costume and join them on the shores of the Santa Rosa Sound, between Key Sailing and Morgan Park.
This is a free, fun-filled family event that is brought to you by the Pensacola Chamber of Commerce.

“Pensacola Beach will be swarming with Pirates, the young and young at heart. We can’t wait to see all the pirates in their various
costumes. We organized this event to provide a safe family fun-filled event, so that local families won’t have to break the bank to have a
good time,” said Maureen LaMar, executive director, Pensacola Beach Chamber.

Spectators will line the shoreline of Santa Rosa Sound, between Key Sailing and Morgan Park, on Pensacola Beach to cheer for the Pirate
Paddleboarders. This bunch of swash-buckling, paddleboarders will be out  in force, showing off their graceful skills, and feats of strength. The
pirates will end their evening with wild and wacky races. Free eye patches for all spectators will be provided. The fun begins at 6 p.m. on
Wednesday, August 31, 2011.

Everyone is invited to wear their best pirate costumes and participate in an entertaining costume contest. No cost to enter and
participants have a chance to win a treasure chest of prizes. A panel of  three judges will award prizes to the top three adults, and top three
children in costume. The judging will begin at 7 p.m.
